Q: Will Easy Mail run on my 286 computer?
A: Easy Mail runs on any computer that runs Windows. There is a version for Windows 3.x, which also runs on later versions. And another version specifically for "32-bit" Windows 95/98/00/NT/ME/XP/Vista.

Q: Can I put my own image on envelopes?
Easy Mail supports any image in .BMP or .WMF format. You can also use your favorite images in creating letterheads or "stationery."

Q: My printer is kind of old. Will it work with Easy Mail?
A: If your printer works with Windows, it will work with Easy Mail.

Q: Do I have to change a lot of settings before I can print an envelope?
A: If you have a printer running under Windows now, you can print from Easy Mail without making any changes at all. You do need to tell Easy Mail how you feed envelopes into your printer. This is easy, though; you just select from drawings that show the different ways it is done with different printers.

Q: Are there common label and envelope sizes ready to print?
A: Yes. Eight standard envelope sizes and sixteen standard Avery label sheets are predefined. If you need something not already setup, it only takes minutes to do so.

Q: Can I change the font colors and sizes?
A: Yes, and just as in other Windows programs, it's easy to do.

Q: Can I switch between different return addresses and logos?
A: Yes, and you can have as many different layouts as you need.

Q: Can I use preprinted envelopes and labels with Easy Mail?
A: Yes. You have total control over where items print on your envelopes and labels. In fact, you may decide to eliminate the extra cost of preprinted stationery because Easy Mail makes it so easy to print your own.

Q: Can I use Easy Mail to print postcards?
A: Yes. For the address fields, you may want to modify one of the predefined envelope sizes, but this only takes a couple of minutes. If you want to print text on the other side, you just have to set the margins in the editor.

Q: I have addresses in several different programs. Do I have to type them all into Easy Mail?
A: The simple answer is, "No, you don't." You can copy an address to the clipboard, switch to Easy Mail and copy it to a letter, envelope or label. However, it's as easy to copy it into an address list. And once you do so, the address is available with a click. Most programs can write addresses to a text file. If your programs can, you will find it easy to load them into Easy Mail. If you want to spend a bit of time editing your addresses for format, Easy Mail can load them for you automatically.

Q: I use lots of different sizes of envelopes. Is switching from one to another hard in Easy Mail? It's a real pain in the program I'm using.
A: You can have up to eight different sizes of envelopes, and as many different layouts for each size as you need. For example, one layout might include your logo, another might not. You can set up a return address with your formal name, such as Joseph P. Peters and another as Joe Peters. Once you set things up the way you want it, it only takes a couple of clicks to select what you need at the moment.

Q: Can Easy Mail print a logo and return address on labels?
A: Yes, if there is room enough. Some users find it helps to make the logo smaller and use smaller font sizes. Changing the size of the logo is easy. You just right click it with the mouse, then move the edges closer together. You change font sizes just as in any Windows program.

Q: The program I've got to print labels, always screws up a column. If I fix it so the left is okay, then the right is no good. If I fix the right, then the left is off. Are all label programs like this?
A: Easy Mail is not. Once you pick a label size, every label in every column comes out great. If you are using a non-standard label size, you need to set things up so Easy Mail knows what you want, but that's easy, and only takes a few minutes. After that, you'll get perfect printing even on your non-standard size.

Q: I'm lousy with graphics. Is Easy Mail really as easy as you make it sound?
A: Yes, it is. It's our drag and drop approach that makes it easy. For example, right click on your return address on an envelope, then drag it to wherever you want it. You can do the same thing with your logo. And you can also make it larger or smaller, or maybe just taller to fit your return address. Or you can stretch it, then put it above your return address if you like. With the mouse, it is really easy to set up layouts on envelopes and labels. And you can create great looking letterhead or stationery just as easily.

Q: The program I'm using always wastes a lot of labels. Does Easy Mail do the same thing?
A: No. You can use every label on every sheet. Say you have a sheet on which half have been printed. You can click an address, then click a particular label and it will print right there. You can repeat this as many times as needed to use all the labels on the sheet. If you have to print a lot of labels, you may want Easy Mail to position them automatically, then use the leftovers for small mailings.

Q: I'd buy the program if I could get the darn thing to work.
A: A sensible point of view. Let's see if we can help. Here's a couple of things to check. If they don't make sense to you, please get right back to us and we will solve the problem. (Note: While testing, it's saves money to use plain paper.)

1) Does Easy Mail run at all?

  • If not, try installing it again.

2) Can you print an envelope?

  • Click one of the big buttons on the left in the main screen. Business, maybe.

  • If you have not selected a return address, click Return Address in the menu and do so.
  • Now select an address or type one right in the screen.
  • Then click the Print Envelope button at the top of the screen.

3) Can you print a label?

  • Click on Labels.

  • Select a size.
  • Click on an address.
  • Point to the label you want and click on it.
  • Then print.

4) Can you print a note?

  • Type something into the editor.

  • Then print it.

That's really about all there is to it. You can do a lot of other neat things with Easy Mail, but the above is a good description of how the program is generally used.

Again, please send a note email and tell us where you are having trouble. We will get you up and running in no time.

Q: My word processor already has predefined envelopes and labels built in. Why do I need Easy Mail?

Can you activate your word processor in just a few seconds, and choose the desired envelope with only a mouse click?

Can you print an envelope without changing any printer settings?

Can you choose a label size and select a label upon which to print with only a few mouse clicks?

Can you choose addresses for envelopes or labels with only a few mouse clicks instead of setting up a merge file in your word processor?

If the answer to all of the above is "Yes," then maybe you don't need Easy Mail.
